HOW TO MAINTAIN GOOD DENTAL HYIEGENE


Every good thing must come with its price, good dental health in that case is costly to maintain and demand its own price .Maintaining  a good dental hygiene not only involves maintenance practices but also meals that make our teeth strong which in this case are not easily affordable to all. Here are some of the ways to ensure this.


  • Regular brushing.

We should brush our teeth at least twice a day but preferably after every meal to make sure our teeth are always clean and free from food particles that may provide a breeding condition for bacteria. We can also do this by using tooth picks to remove food particles after meals.

Twigs can also be used to scrub our teeth just in case we are not able to access toothpaste. The plants sap functions as anti-septic replacing the normal tooth paste.


  • Proper brushing.

There is a big difference between regular brushing and proper brushing. One can brush regularly but not properly avoiding several vital places that ought to be considered while brushing. It is recommended to brush properly all sides of the teeth.


  • Clean the tongue.

One`s tongue should be cleaned properly while brushing. One may brush the teeth and forget the tongue and still end up with bad oral hygiene because both are totally different segments that one cannot assume.


  • Professional cleaning.

Professional cleaning through dental X-rays is recommended after every six months. Apart from the x-rays, gums checkup should also be done in a period not more than a year.


  • Eating foods for oral health.

Foods such as apples, crunchy foods like biscuits and vegetables are important as they aid in the cleansing of saliva flow bringing a feeling of freshness in the mouth. Foods that are less or non-acidic such as fresh milk are also important as they wash away the acid in our mouths caused by eating acidic foods.


  • Regular drinking of water.

It is recommended that we take a glass of water after every meal as it washes away the food particles and bacteria away. Water helps in bringing good health .Water is the most affordable stuff that everyone should take as it helps wash particles faster immediately after meals.


  • Foods for vitamins and minerals.

Fish, meat, eggs, kales, carrots are important in providing vitamin A which is important for healthy gums and membranes within the teeth. Foods rich in vitamin B such as beans, vitamin C such as berries, sunshine are good for gum healing and strong bones respectively.


Calcium has always been associated with strong bones in the human body. Our teeth being bony in nature therefore require this mineral to grow strong. Strong teeth are important for feeding. We can only take meat which is rich in vitamin A only if we have strong teeth.


  • Avoid smoking.

Cigarettes and bhang are not good for our dental health. Smoke makes our teeth black producing bad smell and breath depending on what we have smoked. Black teeth are not healthy as they make ones teeth smell depriving one of oral hygiene.
